22nd Annual, Salute To Those Who Make A Difference  Was an Smashing Success!

Event Flyer

The 22nd Annual, Salute to Those Who Make a Difference Dinner was a smashing success this year with over 600 attendees at the event at the Drury Lane in Oakbrook Terrace, Illinois.  With the Illinois State Police and members of many surrounding law enforcement agencies in attendance, the evening was started by the entrance of the Emerald Society Bagpipers of the Chicago Police Department and the Illinois State Police Honor Guard.  Executive Director Jerry Elsner, President Bill Joyce, and Vice President Perry Mandera led the many testimonials and related programs and activities of the Illinois State Crime Commission.

The evening was brilliantly dedicated to Chicago Police Department Commander Paul Bauer, who was killed in February while responding to a nearby call in the Chicago Loop area. Several members of the Bauer family were recognized and received an award from the Illinois State Crime Commission for his great service to the people of Chicago and for giving his life in performance of his duties as a police officer.

The awardees for this dinner are listed on our website, as are the members of the Board of Directors and the Officers of the Illinois State Crime Commission. The dinner booklet is available online or by contacting the communications staff at Fanning Communications.

We were extremely proud to present the 22nd Annual Awards Dinner to honor many people in law enforcement, government, labor, education, and public policy.
