At the Illinois State Crime Commission heroin summit held Saturday, March 9th at Prairie State College, a panel of experts came together to facilitate public discussion of the epidemic of heroin use.

The ISCC acknowledges and recognizes the most eminent recipients of the communities with an annual honorary Awards Dinner.

Through well-established boxing programs, at-risk youth have the opportunity to participate in an organized sport, which builds self-esteem as well as physical strength.

Beginning in September of 1993, the Commission has brought experts in the field of street gangs to communities throughout the state, informing thousands of citizens about these dangerous groups.

The Crime Commission has also established the first cooperative program in Illinois which collects contributions from criminals and distributes it back to crime-fighting agencies.

The Illinois State Crime Commission/Police Athletic League of Illinois has received expressions of appreciation and praise from many law enforcement agencies, government officials, and countless groups for its crime fighting efforts.

Recent Successes

ISCC and MADD combine efforts to curb drinking and driving. A drunk driver crash is simulated to raise awareness as a public event.
